For most people the thought of abusing an older family member is unthinkable but according to Seniors Rights Victoria, it is on the increase.

According to research, abuse is often carried out by someone known to the older person and can be in the form of social, financial, psychological and even sexual abuse.

Next Friday 15th June is Elder Abuse Awareness Day and Jenny Blakey, Senior Right’s Victoria Manager told Kayley Harris, they have received a 25% increase in calls for help. For more information www.seniorsrights.org.au
