E-scooter rider critically injured after Gold Coast crash

Forensic crash investigators are investigating a serious crash between a man on an e-scooter and a car on the Gold Coast last night.
A 34-year-old man suffered critical head injuries after he collided with a car at Burleigh Heads.
A bystander who saw the crash unfold tried to help the man.
He was rushed to hospital in a critical condition.
Police say the Currmbin man was not wearing a helmet and sustained critical injuries.
It’s prompted a warning from emergency services who are pleading with riders of e-scooters to wear a helmet.
The driver of the vehicle, a 23-year-old Robina woman, was not injured.
