Dolphins boss welcomes election pledge, weighs in on player signings

The Morrison government has promised $15 million if re-elected to fund a centre of excellence for the NRL’s newest team, the Dolphins.
It would include training and recovery facilities, based in Redcliffe.
CEO Terry Reader welcomed the news saying the Dolphins is a real community club.
On the club failing to lure Kayln Ponga, he says Ponga a wonderful player and it was well-documented that the club was in talks with him ahead of the 2023 season.
“You would have heard the coach say this yesterday, we met, we were in talks and we put our point forward … and we left it to him to make a decision and he chose to stay in Newcastle, so we move on,” he told Peter Psaltis filling in on 4BC Drive.
“There’s a lot of things going on in the background and he’s not the only one.”
