Destructive tides, damaging winds to thrash coast in coming days

Beaches from Fraser Island down to northern NSW remain closed due to ex-tropical cyclone Seth.
The system is sitting over the southern Coral Sea, off the Queensland coast.
Peak wind gusts of around 100 kilometres an hour are possible over coastal areas and ranges across this afternoon before easing tomorrow.
Nine News reporter Nick Kelly told Chris O’Keefe “it’s pretty obvious, even to the untrained eye, there’s something brewing off the coast”.
“The beaches are closed, even though many people are ignoring those signs.”

Weather guru Justin Noonan told Chris O’Keefe the system will meander west and back to the north-west.
“We will still see these locally damaging wind gusts to 100 kilometres an hour from Moreton Bay down to the NSW border.”
