Controversial federal senator Lidia Thorpe has been tackled by police after crashing an anti-transgender rally.

Ms Thorpe intervene in the small protest on the wet lawns of parliament house but was swiftly moved on.

She later joined a larger pro-transgender demonstration and has sough medical attention.

“Oh, cry me a river, Lidia,” Bill McDonald said on Brisbane Live. “What a disgrace to have someone like this for an elected member of federal parliament.

“She seems more interested in being a serial, professional protester pest than representing those who elected her and doing the greater good for the community. It’s pathetic.”
