Community rallies around former Wallaby after he suffers severe spinal injury
The community is rallying around former Wallaby and loving father Richard Tombs after he suffered a serious accident last month.
The former professional rugby union player was playing soccer on Sydney’s northern beaches in a local competition when he suffered a severe spinal injury.
Richard is still recovering in Royal North Shore Hospital and faces months of gruelling rehabilitation.
Richard’s wife Carissa has been by his side every day and their three children have been key to lifting his spirits.
A local charity known as Mums for Mums supports local families in times of hardship and have set up an account for Richard to help the family meet treatment expenses and day-to-day costs.
