Chris Smith savages Turnbull and Morrison in one solid blow

Chris Smith has gone in on Malcolm Turnbull after the former PM took a swipe at Prime Minister Scott Morrison when speaking to media in Bali.

Mr Turnbull, who is in Indonesia on Scott Morrison’s recommendation, met with Indonesian President Joko Widodo.

Following the meeting, Mr Turnbull took to the media. But what did he speak about?

“Well, oceans… you’d assume, isn’t that why he’s there?” says Chris.

Apparently not.

Mr Turnbull said the Indonesian president expressed “serious concern” over Australia potentially shifting its embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

It’s a prospect the Prime Minister floated in the lead-up to the Wentworth by-election, an electorate where more than 12 per cent of voters are Jewish.

“There is no question, were that move to occur, it would be met with a very negative reaction in Indonesia,” Mr Turnbull told reporters.

“We have to take into account Australia’s national interest and our interests in the region when we make a decision like this.”

The dumped PM’s comments have aggravated Chris, and now he’s calling him out.

“Fancy allowing him to conduct himself like a foreign minister after what’s happened, and then get over there and contradict the Prime Minister.

“Once again it still underlines how non-sensical it was to send him.

“He’s acting like some kind of United Nations diplomat on behalf of Australia.”

Chris has also hit out at Scott Morrison, calling his decision to send Mr Turnbul to Bali to smooth out relations “gutless”.

“What was he thinking!

“Scott Morrison, drop him like a rock.”
