China signals borders will re-open in January
Authorities in China say they will allow mainland residents to travel abroad from January 8.
The relaxation of the nation’s COVID-19 restrictions will mark an end to the strict rules that have been in place for three years in pursuit of its COVID-zero strategy.
Quarantine requirements will also be scrapped for incoming travellers.
Chinese nationals have reportedly rushed to book travel following the announcement.
