‘Check everything’: Are your power bills guesstimated?

The Chris Smith Show has been inundated with complaints of incorrect power bills where consumers end up paying more than they should.

One of Chris Smith’s producers, Harnsle Joo, alerted him to a guesstimated gas bill she received.

She tells Chris she sent a photo of her accessible meter to her gas company, which ended up lowering her bill significantly.

“The customer service people were a bit surprised.

“They went back and got their actual reading.

“After this, I’ve been sending everyone messages saying ‘check everything!'”
