4BC News

Police have charged a man with the alleged theft of a Lexus which ploughed through a Sunnybank Hills home on Monday.

A 17-year-old girl remains in hospital in a critical condition after being found nearby the wreck.

It’s alleged the 19-year-old man stole keys to the car and other personal items from a home and used the residents’ credit cards at a Forestdale service station.

The Kingston man has been charged with burglary, commit an indictable offence, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, unlicensed driving and receiving tainted property.

He appeared in the Richlands Magistrates Court yesterday where he was remanded in custody.

A 14-year-old Cherbourg boy has also been charged with the unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

Police believe the pair were linked to a group involved in a series of offences prior to and after the crash across Logan, South Brisbane and Ipswich.

Investigations into the series of offences and the crash are ongoing.
