Neil Breen says he is baffled by an apparent push for David Warner to return to a leadership role, after Cricket Australia approved a change to its code of conduct.

The amendment paves the way for Warner to plead his case to have his lifetime leadership ban overturned, if he can prove he has remorse and has changed.

He was banned from holding a leadership position back in 2018 after the ball-tampering saga, but now he will be able to request a review of the sanction.

“All through the winter and into the summer, the cricket writers of this nation … have been obsessed with this boring story about Dave Warner,” Neil said.

He says it’s a conversation he doesn’t get.

“I don’t know about you, but I can’t cop it.”
