Mystery surrounds a canoe found submerged off Peel Island in Moreton Bay this morning. 

The green kayak was located with no personal property inside around 6.30am, on the south-western side of the Amity Banks.

Police are conducting both a land and water search in the area and are seeking community assistance to help locate its owner.
