Can the Roosters win without Cooper Cronk? Rugby league legend weighs in

The NRL Grand Final is just days away and there’s one question on everyone’s lips.

Will Cooper Cronk play?

The Roosters’ star halfback sustained a “severe left rotator cuff” injury while playing in last Friday’s preliminary final against the Sharks.

Questions are swirling about how bad the injury is and whether Cronk will recover in time to play in Sunday’s decider against the Melbourne Storm.

Former Sydney Rooster Craig Wing tells Chris Smith he believes Cronk will play.

“He’ll be doing everything he can.

“I’m sure he’ll cut off his left arm if he has to. My personal feeling is he’ll play.

“Obviously, he’ll be doing over and above what’s required of him to get on to the field.”

But Wing tells Chris even without Cooper Cronk taking up his place in the halves, Sydney can still beat last year’s premiers.

“It’s just a matter of getting the ball to the right people at the right time.”
