Brisbane Broncos CEO Dave Donaghy was touched to receive a note from a fan who took his children to the All Stars clash in Sydney on the weekend.

He said it was great to see fans out at Kougari Oval on Saturday, and later enjoying the All Stars game.

“We love to see that, it’s great that our players are able to have that interaction with fans again, after a challenging couple of years, and probably a couple of years of disconnect,” he told Peter Psaltis on Wide World of Sports.

Heading into the first NRL game of the season, he says there’s a lot of momentum from fans and the club.

“We are finding a lot our metrics are getting back on par but very close to pre-2020 numbers, so that’s a real positive.

“I think it’s a real reflection of what’s happening around society, people desperately trying to get back to some normality.”
