Brisbane has made Time Magazine’s annual list of the world’s greatest places.

The River City is among 50 destinations that have been deemed extraordinary places to explore.

Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner welcomed the news.

“This big international exposure means more tourists are going to visit Brisbane and that means more jobs and opportunities for Brisbane residents.”

Other places included on the list are:

• Kangaroo Island, Australia
• Yosemite National Park in California, US
• Naples, Italy
• Phuket, Thailand
