The Brisbane Broncos are bringing in their own ritual in an homage to NRL icon Allan ‘Alfie’ Langer.

Ahead of the start of the season, fans will get a dedicated spot in the eastern stand, cheaper home game tickets and an ‘Alfies Bald Cap’.

Brisbane Broncos CEO Dave Donaghy said they had seen the success of the Richies and the Storm Troopers through the cricket.

“It’s another initiative where we are trying to create rituals for fans and just enhance that game day experience at our home ground, particularly for our first game,” he told Scott Emerson.

He said Alfie Langer “loves” the idea.

He also spoke about their big goal this year, to make the finals.
