Cabinet this morning ratified the question and wording to be included in the constitution.
Mr Albanese said if the referendum vote is successful, the Voice will advise parliament and executive government.
He said he hoped the referendum would receive “the strongest possible support from Australia”, and the wording was a result of consultation with communities across the country.
“It will not take decision-making power away from government or parliament.”
And this morning, Cabinet has endorsed the wording of the question Australians will be asked.
For so many, today is the result of years of patient and passionate work.
Now, the chance to make history and create a better future belongs to you – the people of Australia.

9News federal politics reporter Reece D’Alessandro told Bill McDonald the referendum will go to the people later this year.
