Why Dr Paul Griffin wanted COVID isolation rules to continue

Mandatory COVID-19 isolation rules will be scrapped across the country on October 14.
The Prime Minister this morning said the decision was made because it’s no longer suitable to keep COVID-19 settings at “emergency levels”.
But infectious diseases expert Paul Griffin told Bill McDonald he would’ve liked to see the rules maintained “at least for a little bit longer”.
“As we look to see cases increase on the other side of the world, I think the message that it sends by getting rid of those rules is that the pandemic may be over.”

Isolation will still be required for aged care and hospital workers.
