Police are right now hunting for a driver who allegedly struck a 12-year-old-boy, while trying to flee from police in Sunnybank.

Police say they were conducting random registration checks in MacGregor when they noticed an unregistered Commodore.

They attempted to pull him over the driver, but he fled, before he allegedly collided with the child.

The boy, who was riding his bike at the time, is in hospital in a serious but stable condition.
