The Mayor of a Queensland council at the centre of an interstate misunderstanding is reminding people to be a little more thoughtful. 

Bourke Shire Council in NSW drew an onslaught of criticism when it euthanised 15 dogs that could not be rehomed due to coronavirus travel restrictions.

Queensland’s Burke Shire Mayor Ernie Camp told Deborah Knight his council was caught in the crossfire.

“We know they may have a cause to stand behind, but please take time and collect the facts first.

“If you’ve got a concern or issue, certainly take it up with the local authority, but when you leave home, take your manners with you.”
