The Black Friday sales are on.

And they’re a great opportunity to snag a deal of ahead of the Christmas rush.

Associate professor in consumer behaviour Doctor Gary Mortimer says the sales “are really designed to trigger Christmas spending”.

“It gets bigger and bigger every year,” he tells Chris Smith.

“It is, predominately here in Australia, very much about [electronics].”
