A Tamil asylum seeker family will today return to their adopted hometown in central Queensland after four years.

Biloela locals have planned a big celebration to welcome Priya, Nades and their two young daughters back to the town.

The family of four, who have been fighting deportation since 2018, are one step closer to becoming Australian residents after the Albanese government intervened two weeks ago and granted them bridging visas to return to Biloela.
