THUNDER ROLL ON

The Thunder have cruised to a seven-wicket win at the MCG.

The win puts the Sydneysiders on eight points, level with the fourth-placed Renegades. However, the Renegades have two games in hand and a superior net run rate.

Usman Khawaja (44 off 26) played an entertaining innings, including an eight-ball stretch that included seven boundaries.

But it was Shane Watson who was named Man of the Match, hitting 49* off 28 (five 4s, two 6s) and taking 1-34 from his four overs.

Watson told Macquarie Cricket that while finals are still on the table, the team wasn’t thinking too far ahead.

“We just had to play well tonight,” he said.
