Biden warns US is ‘ready to respond decisively’ to Russia’s next move

Gary Hardgrave

President Joe Biden has warned the US is “ready to respond decisively” to a Russian attack on Ukraine.

Moscow is promising to withdraw some troops from the border in a sign of possible de-escalation.

But western leaders say there are no signs yet of the withdrawal.

Diplomacy remains the main focus of the United States but President Biden says “the United States is prepared, no matter what happens.”

US correspondent Harley Carnes told Neil Breen he’s doubtful the comments mean they’re ready with military force to back Ukraine.

“What it really means is we’re ready with sanctions and all kinds of other things.

“If he goes in, he knows he’s going to face incredibly tough economic sanctions by the US and the rest of the western world.”
