A school which was saved from the bushfires has been targeted by heartless vandals in Sydney’s south-west.

Buxton Primary School has been broken into and trashed, with computers, whiteboards, windows and even animal shelters destroyed.

Firefighters risked their lives to save the school, with the scorched oval and burnt shade cloths showing just how close the flames came.

But, with two weeks until students are set to return, the community has copped another horrific blow.

A tearful P&C President, Natalie Boys, has told Nine News it’s devastating.

“This community’s gone through enough and we just need to pick up and go on so the kids have their school back.”

Shadow Local Government Minister Greg Warren has been to survey the damage himself and tells John Stanley it’s “simply unfathomable”.

“We see the best in our Australian spirit when we see these volunteers fighting… and ultimately saving this school but now on the flip side we see the worst.

“It’s beyond belief… it made me angry and it’s simply unfathomable to try and comprehend what motivates such a ghastly act.

“I hope they find them John and I hope they throw the book at them because they bloody deserve it.”
