Belinda Sharpe and Kasey Badger are set to create history as the first women to officiate under the NRL’s single referee system.

This is not the first time Belinda Sharpe has made history; as she was the first woman to referee in the Hostplus Cup, as well as serving as an NRL linesman and referee within the two-referee system.

Ms. Sharpe told Peter Psaltis on Wide World of Sports, “…As you said it’s been a little while coming but I feel like I’m prepared for it and looking forward to it.”

“Obviously it’s probably something I’ll look back on later on and be proud of those moments, and as you said breaking the ceiling and doing those things the first time…” Ms. Sharpe continued.
