Senior 9News reporter Tim Arvier reveals what went on behind the scenes before breaking the huge story on 9News last night of the Palaszczuk Government’s expected Cabinet reshuffle.

Mr Arvier told Neil Breen on Brisbane Live that “these things are very tightly held because ultimately it is the Premier’s call… but eventually when you are making decisions, you talk to other people… and slowly the circle starts to widen”.

And last night the tight inner circle widened enough for Mr Arvier to get word of Yvette D’Ath’s sacking as Health Minister.

The 9News reporter explained that the government weren’t planning to announce the changes until later in the week, so “a lot of cabinet ministers didn’t know this was being announced”.

Tim Arvier confirmed that the current Environment Minister, Megan Scanlan, is going to housing and Shannon Fentimen will take over from Yvette D’Ath as Health Minister.

The formal announcement and swearing in at Government House will take place tomorrow.
