SIXERS WIN EASILY

Sydney Sixers have completed the easiest victory of BBL|07 so far, winning by nine wickets with 10 overs to spare.

In what all but ends Brisbane Heat’s season, tonight’s crushing loss decimates their net run rate in what is a crushing blow to their hopes making the top four.

Joe Denly (19*) and Daniel Hughes (37) guided the men in magenta home for a comfortably 10-wicket victory.

Yasir Shah claimed the only wicket for the Heat, trapping the aforementioned Hughes LBW.

INNINGS BREAK

Brisbane Heat have been bowled out for 73, their lowest score in BBL history.

Sean Abbott (4-11) and Nathan Lyon (2-17) wrecked havoc all innings to put the Sixers in a commanding position.

In what looms as a disaster night for the Heat, their net run rate will take a hit as the look to defend such a meager target. To rub salt into the would, the Heat failed to hit a single six all night.

PREVIEW

It’s essentially last chance saloon for Brisbane Heat tonight, who simply must beat Sydney Sixers to stay in finals contention.

The Heat are suffering somewhat of an injury crisis, losing Joe Burns yesterday in a training mishap but Chris Lynn was spotted at the SCG nets earlier this afternoon and remains a chance to play.

Currently on a two-match losing streak, they Heat have dropped to fifth spot on the table with tonight being the penultimate match of their regular season.

As for the Sixers, their season is over but hey’ve won their last two and look a vastly-improved side with West Indian Carlos Brathwaite in their side.

While it might be a dead rubber for the Sixers, tonight’s clash in Sydney takes on added important for the Heat. Win and they’re back in the finals hunt but lose and they’re just about out of the title race.
