SCORCHERS WIN BY FIVE WICKETS
Perth Scorchers’ clash has shone through, chasing down the Renegades’ total in the last over to win by five wickets.
Ashton Turner’s monumental 70 off 32 balls sealed victory for the home team. He hit a six off just his secondary ball faced and never looked back as he hit the Renegades’ bowlers to all parts of the WACA on the way to victory.
David Willey (55) chipped in magnificently too, while Ashton Agar (26*) finished off the innings as wickets tumbled around him.
Dwayne Bravo affected two run outs but was costly with the ball, leaking 0-43 off his four overs.

INNINGS BREAK
Melbourne Renegades have powered their way to a final total of 3/185 off their 20 overs.
Cameron White top scored for the Gades, ending up on 68* (55) and looked in superb touch throughout the 20 overs. He was joined by Tom Cooper, who hit 57 (34) after a slow start to put the Renegades in a favourable position.
Opener Marcus Harris was also prolific for the men red, blasting 48 off 28 balls before being caught at point. If the Renegades do land up winning later tonight, they have the West Australian native to thank for setting up the victory.
Back from a short break, Mitchell Johnson terrorised the Rengades batters – bowling two of the first three overs. The 37-year-old spearhead finish with figures of 1-23.
Jhye Richardson leaked runs for the Scorchers, going for a whopping 0-55 off his four overs.
We’re set for a grandstand finish at the WACA.

PREVIEW
The second of today’s BBL double header has all the makings of a classic.
The strength of Perth Scorchers is well documented but in the
Melbourne Renegades, they face their toughest test to date as the two
teams prepare to meet in front of another full house.
While the Scorchers have beaten the Renegades already this season, the
men in red have only improved since then to sit second on the ladder
heading into tonight’s match.
In terms of team selection, the Renegades have been a model of
consistency, playing the same team for five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, the Scorchers opted to leave spearhead Mitchell Johnson
back in Perth in preparation for tonight’s blockbuster. They went on
to lose to Brisbane Heat just three days ago so they’ll be hoping a
fresh Johnson pays dividends later tonight.
With ODI selection impacting both the Scorchers (David Willey, Andrew
Tye and Jhye Richardson) and the Renegades (Aaron Finch) in the coming
weeks, tonight’s clash takes on even more importance. Both teams will
want to strike another blow ahead of what many are tipping will be a
third matchup of the season during the finals in a few weeks’ time.
