Dan Worrall’s figures of 1-12 off three restrcting the Renegades throughout, while legspinner Dan Fallins (0-19 off three) was also solid on debut.

PREVIEW

The Melbourne Derby returns for the second and final time this season as Melbourne Renegades play host to the Melbourne Stars under the roof at Etihad Stadium.

Things have been going relatively smoothly this season for the Gades, who currently sit third with four wins from six. Since their heartbreaking last-over loss to Perth Scorchers last Monday, their team has been decimated by ODI call-ups and injury.

Cameron White, Aaron Finch and Brad Hodge will all miss tonight’s Derby clash, forcing the men in red into a rare re-shuffle.

Tonight also marks Mohammad Nabi’s final match of BBL|07, with West Indian Kieran Pollard poised to join the team for the final three matches of the season.

As for the Stars, they are still winless after five matches and are all but out of finals calculations this season. They lose Adam Zampa and Marcus Stoinis through international selection so much like the Renegades, they’ll be forced to field a vastly different lineup to the one that lost to Adelaide Strikers on Tuesday night.

Things are tightening up at the top of the ladder so tonight’s Derby looms as as must-win for the Renegades if they hold any ambition of pushing into the top two. Meanwhile, pride is on the line for the Stars who simply just want to win after five successive losses.

Join us from 7.00pm AEDT on 3AW in Melbourne, NTS Digital nationally or through the Cricket Australia website and app as Bruce Eva, Dean Jones and Daniel Harford bring you all the action from Melbourne.
