Police have set up a crime scene at a Sunshine Coast home after a man was found dead inside overnight. 

Emergency services were called to the Baringa house just before midnight, where they found a 42-year-old man with apparent stab wounds.

The man died from his injuries at the scene.

Police are treating his death as suspicious and a 16-year-old boy, who was known to the man is now assisting with their enquiries.

Investigations into are ongoing.
