Australia’s first ever campaign encouraging smokers to make the switch from cigarettes to e-cigarettes is launching today.

Switch to Vaping has been developed by the Australian Tabacco Harm Reduction Association (ATHRA) in a bid to educate Aussie smokers about the health and financial benefits of e-cigarettes.

Despite strict laws against e-cigarettes in Australia, the campaign is expected to teach Aussies how to legally make the transition to vaping.

Associate Professor and ATHRA Chairman Colin Mendelsohn says even though vaping is not harm-free, it’s stillĀ far less harmful than smoking.

He tells Chris Smith a lot of people set New Year’s resolutions to quit smoking, “but we know the majority will fail”.

“We just want smokers to know that there is another option.”
