Australia to send 70 troops to help train Ukrainian forces in the UK

Around 70 Australian Defence personnel will help train Ukrainian troops in the UK as part of a new aid package in the war against Russia.
Ukraine has asked Australia for extra military support as the invasion by Russia drags on.
There will also be a further 30 Bushmaster vehicles sent to Ukraine taking the total to 90.
The additional aid also includes ammunition, drones, and other equipment.
Australian troops will be deployed to the UK early next year, as part of an international effort to train Ukrainian reservists.
Australia has now committed $655 million in military and other aid, following Russia’s invasion of the country.
Defence Minister Richard Marles said the measures will give Ukraine extra capacity to defend themselves.
“We really appreciate that this is developing into a protracted conflict, we need to be supporting the Ukraine overt he long term, and that’s why this announcement is so important.”
