Western Australia police have released audio of the moment they found Cleo Smith alone in a locked Carnarvon house.

The four-year-old was found yesterday, 18 days after she disappeared from her family’s tent at a camp site north of the town.

Nine News reporter Josh Dawe told Sofie Formica police have given some insight into the moment Cleo was rescued.

“They said that she was playing with toys when they found her, she was awake, the lights were on at the time, and as we know the man was arrested driving in a different car, away from the scene.

“Police have confirmed she was looked after, [but] they wouldn’t go into the full extent, obviously.”
