Based on a book of the same title, Film Stars Don’t Die In Liverpool is a tragic tale of love and passion.

Star of the feature, Annette Bening, takes on the role of Gloria Grahame.

She tells Chris Smith how she captures the essence of Grahame in the film.

“I studied her… and fell in love with her.

“I think she was wild.

“But Gloria was very open, open to the moment, open to doing what was in front of her.”

She recalls her first moments on stage, telling Chris she didn’t start doing film until she was in her 30s.

“One of the blessings of the camera… you can really feel open to it.

“The camera is this wonderful, wonderful tool.”
