Allegations LNP candidate for Lilley provided false details about his address

Scott Emerson

The Australian Electoral Commission is reviewing the circumstances around allegations an LNP candidate may have misrepresented his address.

Vivian Lobo is running in the marginal, Labor-held seat of Lilley in Brisbane’s north-east.

It’s alleged he gave the AEC an address in the Lilley electorate he leases, but there are questions about whether he lives in the apparently vacant home.

The seat is held by Labor MP Anika Wells.

“It was extraordinary, based on what people are saying around Lilley today, it shows a real lack of respect to the community,” she told Scott Emerson.

Julian Simmonds, the LNP member for Ryan, says he believes his colleague’s intentions were good.

He says he understands Mr Lobo signed a lease for a property in April, with a view to move in but has been delayed.
