Ahead of the second Bledisloe Cup Test against the Wallabies, All Blacks coach Steve Hansen says “good rugby” is key to their success.

Australia will need to end a 34-year Eden Park hoodoo to keep their Cup hopes alive.

With 77 test wins and only six losses under his belt, Hansen tells Alan Jones his team is focussed on doing the basics well.

“It’s your ability to grow on those core roles I think, and be able to catch and pass and have a skill level that allows you to cope with the pressure that comes with not only the opposition but each other at training.”

Alan says Hansen’s accomplishments are “extraordinary” but Hanson himself says it’s “more a reflection on the team”.

“[We’re] very lucky to have some really talented athletes and some other talented people working with them.”

At tomorrows game against Australia, Hansen says he’s “looking for a performance that was better than last time”.

“We know Australia will be better.

“All Black rugby is all about being better than you were the time before. You don’t always achieve it but if you don’t aim for the sky, you’re only going to fall on the floor.”
