Alec Baldwin has reached a settlement with the family of Halyna Hutchins.

The Hollywood star discharged a prop weapon on the set of Rust, accidentally killing the director of photography, last year.

The lawsuit against Baldwin, the film’s production companies, its producers and other key members of the crew, alleged numerous industry-standard violations.

The financial terms of the settlement haven’t been disclosed but Ms Hutchins’ widower, Matthew, will be an executive producer when filming resumes in January next year.

Police are still due to issue a final report to the Santa Fe District Attorney, who has already named Baldwin as a possible defendant.
