Well, a long overdue admission of incompetence from the man-made global warming, climate change cheer squad

I see a new paper published in the Journal Nature Geoscience by a group of the world’s leading climate scientists has finally conceded the reality of the 20 year “pause” in global warming and acknowledged that models which predicted out-of-control warming got things hopelessly wrong

You’d imagine scientists finally facing this reality would reassess all their assumptions about climate change – including the assumption man-made CO2, which continues to rise, is driving global warming

But not this mob

No, they blame their dodgy predictions on “natural variability” (things like El Ninos and La Ninas) and “unforeseen events” (volcanic eruptions)

Wouldn’t competent scientists have taken things like that into account when modelling future weather patterns?

How these people imagine they still have credibility after deriding scientists who correctly identified the “pause” for years and refusing to even acknowledge the pause for a decade is beyond me

Scott Pruitt, the new head of the US Environment Protection Agency, wants to set up 2 scientific teams, one comprising sceptics, the other advocates, to critique and debate each other’s views and findings on climate change

A commission would oversee this process and conduct public hearings to highlight points of agreement and dispute

He says it’s time to have “a true, legitimate, peer-reviewed, objective, transparent discussion about CO2 – what we know and what we don’t know”
