Alan Jones wants Scott Morrison to take a leaf out of Malcolm Fraser’s book
Alan Jones has urged Prime Minister Scott Morrison to follow the lead of Malcolm Fraser and provide urgent subsidies to farmers in need.
During Alan’s time as an advisor in 1980, Prime Minister Malcolm Fraser provided drought relief for NSW and Queensland by subsidising freight and fodder.
The agreement included concessions for the carriage of fodder and stock of up to 50 per cent, a doubling of the ‘carry-on’ loan limit, and extra payments for primary producers who had to slaughter cattle.
Alan pointed out that rather than shifting financial responsibility to the states, the press releases simply make the states responsible for “administrative arrangements”.
