Adam Doueihi slams claims Michael Maguire is too hard a coach as ‘a load of rubbish’

Wests Tigers co-captain Adam Doueihi has slammed calls that coach Michael Maguire is too hard and too tough as a “load of rubbish”.

This comes as pressure is building on the Tigers coach after they slumped to their third straight loss on Friday against the Warriors.

Doueihi says “to describe a coach as being too hard is a load of rubbish.”

“We’re playing a tough sport, and if you think a coach is too hard, then you’re definitely not made for Rugby League.

“Madge is a hard working coach, he trains hard himself, and is very diligent in everything he does.

“I’ve never seen a coach review and preview matches as thoroughly as he does.”

Member of The Continuous Call Team and former NRL coach Shane Flanagan believes Maguire isn’t the problem.

“The playing group they’ve got there is just not good enough,” Flanagan said.

Flanagan also said “if an opportunity was to come about at the Tigers, of course I’d be interested.

“That’s what I think I do well as an occupation. I took over as coach of the Sharks in 2010 when they were down the bottom of the table and then turned it around taking them to a Premiership in 2016.”
