Michael McLaren has revealed why he believes Australia could learn a few lessons from Singapore about how politicians are paid.

He says that while he’s not advocating for the Prime Minister to be paid more, he believes the way the Singaporean government handles remuneration could be a potential option for Australia to consider.

“All too often in Australia we have a faux debate about whether we pay politicians too much or not enough, when in reality, we should be debating how we pay them more so than what we pay them,” he said.
