‘The worst results yet’ – Michael tackles why children are falling behind educationally
Michael McLaren has urged education officials to recognise that the reason Australian children are going backwards in education isn’t due to a lack of money.
He’s pointed out that there are several factors in play, including teaching methods as well as a geopolitical element.
“This isn’t one of those problems that can simply be bought off with more borrowed money. It is entrenched, cultural, and requires a suite of measures to rectify,” he said.
“Something clearly isn’t right. Change is needed. And no more money before we get back to basics and return to what we know actually works,’ he added.
