Fuel excise rebound: Australian motorists warned to brace for staged price hikes as subsidy ends

As Australia prepares for the return of the fuel excise tax, convenience and petroleum industry expert Rowan Lee joined Shane Doherty on 4BC Mornings to explain that motorists will face a staged 16-cent-per-litre increase tomorrow, followed by another 16-cent hike in August.

Despite concerns over sudden price gouging, Lee reassured drivers that a highly competitive market and consumer watchdogs are currently keeping profit margins thin and prices at historic lows.
