‘History to be proud of’: Tony Abbott’s new book celebrating Australia’s history

Peter Fegan

Former Prime Minister Tony Abbott has released a new book which celebrates Australia’s history and how the nation came to be.

He told 4BC Breakfast host Peter Fegan he feels there’s been a lot of negativity and says Australia has lost its way.

“When people started to think of the 26th of January, not as the commemoration of something wonderful, but as if you like, the date of a degree of shame … I would remind them that [the invasion] wasn’t the whole story,” he said.
