Should taxpayers fund fire ant outbreak clean-up?
Invasive Species Council advocacy manager, Reece Pianta joined Sofie Formica to discuss the “catastrophic breach” of fire ant containment, with recent outbreaks detected at five mine sites in Queensland’s Bowen Basin.
Pianta argued that mining companies, not taxpayers, should be financially responsible for cleaning up these outbreaks.
