‘Our kids our choice’: Queensland mums call for changes in childcare subsidies

Queensland mums have launched a grassroots group, For Parents, which is calling on the government to expand childcare subsidies to include more flexible options.

Co-founder of For Parents, Ceceilia Cobb, told Carla Bignasca on 4BC Afternoons, “We’re asking to give parents more choice on how they use their current allocation. When you look at how much money is being directed for childcare in traditional childcare centres, it just makes sense for us to be able to use it on more options.”

“Whether it be a babysitter, a nanny, a home daycare, or a childcare. We’re just asking to put the choice in the hands of the family,” Cobb continued.
