‘No place for this in the construction industry’: QLD Government announces review of the CFMEU

​The State Government has announced a commission of inquiry into the CFMEU, promising to lift the lid on allegations of violence and culture problems within the union.

One of the voices calling for this commission, Queensland Major Contractors Association Chief Executive Andrew Chapman, told Dean Miller on 4BC Breakfast, “It’s very hard to attract and retain people in the industry when you’ve got the kind of behaviour carrying on by the CFMEU that has happened in the past in the industry.”

“We have lost so many good people out of the industry because of this kind of behaviour.”
