‘Cry me a river’: Maroons assistant coach tackles penalty counts and key takeaways from training

Peter Psaltis

Maroons assistant coach Josh Hannay has revealed to Salty the key takeaways from training ahead of next week’s Origin decider.

Telling the 4BC Wide World of Sports host that those south of the Tweed could cry him a river, he pointed out the Maroons’ dominance isn’t tied to penalty points.

“That’s the second penalty count we’ve won in ten games, it’s just something as a state we’ve actually never made a big deal out of, they had one penalty count and it becomes a headline,” he said.

“We took our lessons from the game; there was plenty of growth, plenty of improvement, and we showed that in the first half,” he added.
