Moreton Bay Councill agrees to let rough sleepers remain on council land until matter heard in court

A legal battle between the Council of Moreton Bay and homeless advocates has resulted in a temporary win for those sleeping rough.

Founder of charity Nourish Street Beau Haywood says the latest development will give those vulnerable and sleeping rough “some piece of mind”.

“There’s been one gentleman living there for three and a half years, and when he heard about the demise of everyone down at Eddie Hyland Park, he sort of said, ‘Well look. Come here because no one looks after the place,” he told Sofie Formica.
